Meet our instructors
At SMASH, we make sure you have a chance to get to know the instructors even before meeting them! We've a capable team of instructors who has achieved international recognition from United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Middle East. If you are a beginner, they are most willing to accompany you to start your interest and also to lead you to international standards.
Azim B-Boy
Breakdance
Azim started breakdancing when he was 14 years old and he is actively involve in the performance and entertainment industry. He is starring in the upcoming movie 'Sayang You Can Dance' and performed in ASTRO Akademi Fantasia 2008, Nike TV Commercials. His styles cover Hand Spinnin', Back Spin, Helicopter, Windmill, Moonwalk, Uprock and Battle Rock.
Meanwhile he has been teaching for the last five years. With his soft spoken tone you will find breakdancing with Azim even more unique that it already is.
He competed in competitions such as Battle of The Year 2006 2nd Runner Up; Break For Freedom 2005 3 on 3 1st Runner Up & 2nd Runner Up; LG Mobile Street Battler 2005 1st Runner Up and many other street dance events.

Bryan has great personality, you will be definitely motivated by him to dance with full of energy and fun. He has competed and won in T-Hop Dance Master Champion and Channel [V] Inter-College Dance Competition. His dance group has performed high profiled events such as Blue Summer Party in Sunway Lagoon 2007, Miss College 2007, World AIDS Day - Red Carnival 2005, Kuala Lumpur Sungai Wang Plaza 2005 and many more. He has a wide range of experience in teaching street dance to adults and children.

Chris Ooi
Popping & Locking
A natural and gifted popper & locker, Chris has been teaching hip hop since the age of 15. You will love his teaching with his humble way of communication. In 2007, he won Solo Champion NTV7 Dance Competition and also Champion in Duel Category Martell Rise Above Dance Competition in 2006. You can also see his specialist popping performance in 8TV reality dance competition show 'So You Think You Can Dance', Top 20 finalists.
He is regularly performing in Asia Top Events, MTV´s and TV Commercials such as Toyota Vios Car launching, Sony Album-T Digicam launching, Synergy World Wide Launching, Philips Electronics launching, PLKN TV commercials and many more. He has been invited to be a Judge in Asia Pacific DanceSport 2007, Northwest Countdown 2008, 'Shake 2 Da Beat' in Singapore.

Dennis
Hip-Hop Groove
Dennis has a lot of passion for dancing especially hip hop. He started dancing at the age of 16 and he joined CHARM All-Stars, the Cheerleading Body of Malaysia, after his school days. Dennis had an opportunity to experience different dances of all genres in Malaysia’ biggest dance reality show ‘So You Think You Can Dance Malaysia’ on 8TV. Besides that, he has won various competitions throughout the years in his dancing career. Just to name a few, 1st runner-up for ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and also the Champion group for a hip hop dance reality show, Battleground on ASTRO Wah Lai Toi.
He has performed for a variety of events, dance company, crews, and also media company like 8TV, NTV7, and ASTRO. He also had the opportunity to work with international dancers like Shay Norman (Madonna’s World Tour Dancer/Choreographer), Yannus (So You Think You Can Dance Australia and Malaysia choreographer), and Marcus Tucker (International freelance dancer from Philadelphia and his crew mates from Illadeplhave).

Zoey is a new member of our very capable team of instructors. She is a dedicated dance teacher and a great performer. Zoey is given the seal by the Administrative Council of Dance Society of London as an Associate.
Her passion for dance has lead her to become the Champion in Master 1 Latin Creative Dancesport Championship 2007 and Champion in Malaysian Line Dance & Hip Hop Championship 2006. She has been invited to perform in many events such as AIM Award by NTV7, CLEO Magazine Fashion show, Guiness Stout even, CIMB Bank Jazz Retro Style, Happy Feet The Movie Preview, Tribal for UniAsia Insurance and Nestle Ice Cream Launching.

Contemporary Dance & Hip Hop
Ashley has much passion for performing arts, with it she has achieved a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts – Dance Major from Deakin University, Australia. She has 2 worldwide recognized teaching certificates for Jazz and Funk/ Hip Hop from Melbourne, Australia.
Her motivation has leaded her to perform in many major performances throughout Australia and Malaysia. Ashley has performed in ‘Sativa’ – Contemporary Dance 2006, Australia, ‘Nutcracker’ – Classical Ballet, 2000, ‘Sunset Paradise’ – Jazz, 1998 and also ‘Little Bit More’ – Salsa, 2001.
She started learning ballet when she was young and has passed the Royal Academy of Dance examinations with flying colours. Now, she mainly concentrates on teaching Contemporary Dance, Hip Hop, Tap and Jazz.
With her flaming passion but soft vocal tone, you can go very far with her.

Pei Hwa is a natural born dancer and outstanding performer. Her style covers girls street dance, hip hop and coyote dance. She has vast experience teaching adults and children.
She is the team leader of GFM and also a member of Mirage. They have been performing in various events and competitions such as Nike Women Dance Competition 2008, Lim Kok Wing University 2008, T-Hop Dance Master Champion, Selangor Charity Dinner, Sloggi Sunway Lagoon Event, 8TV Appearance, ASTRO Jia Yu TV Interview & Appearance.

Bronya had studied and trained under the prestigious United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dance and National Association of Teachers of Dance, UK emerging with "Highly Commended" results in the fields of Aerobics and Dance (Jazz).
She has emerged as champions in numerous competitions, International Reebok Aerobic Dance Championship 1986, Finalist and 1987, 1st Runner Up, Latin American Dance Competition 1991 to 1998 Champion, Malaysia Line Dance Championship 2003 Champion, Line Dance Carnival 2004 Champion, and Asian Pacific Dance Championship Overall Champion across four divisions.

Emily Mah
Belly Dancing & Line Dance
Emily is a professional dance instructor with a broad background in dance. She is a certified belly dancing instructor and a qualified judge from UKA Associate Line Dance Judges. She teaches Oriental Arabian Belly Dancing and Line Dance. She has completed her belly dancing certification in Singapore by A. Hassan.
She has emerged champion in many South East Asia regional competitions, Asia Pacific Line Dance Intermediate Champion 2004; Overall Line Dance team champion in Malaysia 2004 – 2005, in Nestle, Malaysia Open, Melaka, Port Dickson, Ipoh & many more.

Sze Yen is passionate about dancing, and has been competing and performing since 2003. Master Michael is a highly professional 7th Dan Degree Black Belt Taekwondo instructor. He has successfully graduated as 6th Dan Kukkiwon Instructor, WTF, from Korea. He has vast experience in coaching adult and children.
He is a 5 years Gold Medalist winner for in National Taekwondo Championship, Malaysia and he has participated in the 3rd Asian Taekwondo Championship, Hong Kong and 1st ASEAN Taekwondo Championship, Singapore, both bringing back medals. He is also a certified international Taekwondo referee. Master Michael has performed in many TV commercials.

Sensei Sonny Loke
Aikido
Sonny Loke Sensei, who holds a sixth-dan black belt and official certification in instructing aikido from honbu dojo (headquarters) Japan. Mr Loke has trained in aikido for over 30 years and has 15 years' teaching experience.
As Yoshinkan Aikido Malaysia's chief instructor, Sonny Sensei plays an active role in teaching and guiding junior and senior students alike. His training method meets the standard of that taught at Honbu Dojo Japan, Yoshinkan aikido's global headquarters. It is highly-recognized and is the result of continuous research and development by the Honbu teaching staff over the years. The STAR Newspaper has a lot of write ups of him and he has performed many times in TV commercials and events.
